Jénelle Hughlett is the Creator and Head Coach of Ohana Kid
Fit. Sport and Recreational activities along with introducing kids to an active
lifestyle have always been a passion. She started playing every sport she could
get her parents to driver her to, ultimately focusing on volleyball and soccer.
When college came knocking she chose to play volleyball and became a student
athlete. During that time she also worked during her summers as a camp
counselor for the Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA, and as a teacher for My Gym.
She was able to earn her bachelor’s degree in elementary education although
that is not the career path she chose.
Becoming an outside sales representative
gave her the flexibility to not only make a good living but to also still keep
an active lifestyle. Plus creating your own schedule once you have kids is
amazing!
Speaking of Kids…. She and her husband have 2. They are 9
and 5. They are ultimately the catalyst of Ohana Kid Fit. The summer of 2020
her kids had nothing to do in the way of organized activities. So noticing that
many of their friends had nothing to do also, Ohana Beach Camp was born. The
love of that camp made her realize that she loved going to work every morning
and she loved teaching these kids not only new skills but how to keep going
even when the going got tough. There was and is no greater joy to her when she
sees one of her kids accomplish a challenge or event or basic movement that
they could not previously do and finally get it. Jénelle knew that this was it,
this is what she wanted to do when she “grew up”. Summer only was not an option so Ohana Kid
Fit was born!
Here we are 2021 she is ready to help her community kids get
active, stay active, and realize that movement is fun, it can be hard work but
it will pay off.

Ohana means family and that is truly an important concept. Family can mean so many different
things. It is not simply a relative or someone that lives in your household. Family can mean a
team, classmates, a Scout troop, a volunteer group, or people in your neighborhood. Ohana Kid
Fit values all different types of families and we value the importance of being a contributing part
of a family. When you show courage, kindness, respect, determination, and hard work in your
daily life, which is an amazing way to contribute to your Ohana. These are some examples of the
Ohana Kid Fit values. We strongly feel these values represent who we are and how we strive live
and believe they will help lead us and other individuals down a path of being a good citizen.
